Mariana Palumbo is an Architect, Master in Advanced Architectural Projects and Doctor of Architecture, Building and Urban Planning Technology, Professor of the school of Architecture (ETSAV), member of the GICITED research group (Interdisciplinary Group of Science and Technology in Building) and founder of the Map13 Barcelona architecture Association.

Expert in circular economics and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), in passive elements of environmental control and in alternative construction materials and low environmental impact, such as wood, other ligno-cellulose materials or earth, and in processes of citizen participation and participatory construction of Thin Tile Vault or Catalan Vault.

 

Founding member of the LIGNOMAD network for the impulse of wood and other ligno-cellulose materials in the construction sector and member of the technical committee of RILEM (International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures) on hygrothermal properties and durability of building materials that incorporate natural aggregates.

Marta Domènech is a Doctor Architect, Associate Professor of Architectural Projects at the school of architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) and founder of the Map13 Barcelona Association. She held a Master in Advanced Architectural Projects in the school of Architecture of Madrid ( ETSAM – UPM) and is a PhD in Architectural Projects from the UPC.

Both final thesis have been awarded by the Association of Young Architects of Catalonia in the editions of 2012 and 2018.

 

She has been a researcher at the ETH of Zurich and has collaborated with UN Habitat for research on the recovery of the traditional technique of the Catalan vault in the contemporary project. Her work has been widely awarded nationally and internationally, as well as exhibited.

She has participated in numerous workshops with various art institutions such as the Swedish Public Art Agency or the International Art and Construction festival for the exhibition and the approach of architecture to society.



David López López is a Doctor Architect for the Zurich ETH in the Block Research group, holds a Master in Architecture Technology (UPC), and a Master in Structural Analysis of Historical Buildings (UPC and UMinho). Associate professor at the schools of Architecture ETSAB and ETSAV and postdoctoral researcher at the UPC funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Co-founder of the Map13 Barcelona architecture association.

Expert in design, analysis and structural optimization. His work and research are characterized by an innovative character in the use of the traditional technique of the Catalan vault. Both have been exhibited, published and awarded internationally and presented in different institutions such as, among others, UNAM in Mexico, EPFL in Laussane, ETH Zurich, Universidade do Minho in Guimaraes, MIT in Boston and Geneva invited by UN Habitat as an expert in the field
