Map13 Barcelona is an architectural association dedicated to research and teaching on the role of traditional construction systems in contemporary architecture.
The collective, founded in 2011 by Marta Domènech, David López López and Mariana Palumbo, aims to achieve a more sustainable architecture.
Our work has been internationally awarded and exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018, Beyond Building Barcelona Construmat 2015 and the Sweden’s National Centre for Architecture and Design, among others.
We have published several articles on the topic of Catalan vaulting and its historical development. We have also conducted numerous hands-on workshops building with this technique in New York, Barcelona, Madrid and as experts for the UN Habitat Seventh World Urban Forum in Medellin.

Map13 Barcelona has been invited to lead this exciting participatory project in Hageby (Norrköping) promoted by the Agency for Public Art in Sweden to work with Portalen, a community that is very active in the integration of refugees. The objective is to build together a construction that responds to the needs of the community.
